Therapy Fees
FEES FOR CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY CONSULTATIONS
- The Medicare rebate of $149.05 applies to clinical consultation fees if there is a Doctor’s referral.
- Ten sessions per annum can be claimed from Medicare.
- Your private health fund may also provide rebates for your psychological treatment.
- The DVA provides rebates for Veterans. Please enquire for details if you are entitled (i.e. you have a white or gold card).
- The fee recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) is $330 per session (46–60 minutes).
- Consultations for supervision are $250 per hour plus 10% GST, a total of $275. These payments can be claimed as a tax deduction by the supervisee.
- Assessments and written reports such as for WorkCover, lawyers etc. are charged at $300 per hour plus 10% GST, a total of $330 per hour, and no Medicare rebate can be claimed.
- Late cancellations (less than 48 hours prior to appointment) or unexplained nonattendances are charged at the full fee, but no Medicare rebate can be claimed if you do not attend. You need to let me know at least 48 hours in advance to avoid being charged for a non-rebatable session.
